Bicolor is the name given to a style of decorating pottery with only two colors, any can be used, the most classic being manganese and copper green. The plate on the left is copied from a photo; the original is in the Ceramic Museum of Barcelona. It was painted after 1400 AD in Paterna, a town in Valencia. The plates shown are new ones, which were done using and mixing designs from the past.
Tricolor also exists using three colors.
