Slip in ceramics refers to clay or a color prepared with water to become a liquid.
a) Clay slip is to fill up molds to be cast and fired. When fired they can be decorated with different methods.
b) Slip colors are to decorate clay before it is fired, jars, plates, bowl etc., the two are always fired together, in one firing.
