El Fuego en cerámica, es cocer los diferentes tipos de arcillas a la temperatura correcta. Esto hace que la arcilla se convierta en cerámica cuando la cocción llega a 600ºC. La Loza se hornea entre los 950ºC a 1150ºC; el gres aproximadamente entre 1100 a 1300ºC, y la porcelana entre 1200 y 1400ºC. A mayor temperatura, la arcilla se hace más fuerte, se convierte en un material sólido, frágil y aun poroso. Es conocido como bizcocho.

a) Cocción de arcilla
b) Arcilla con un color – cocción de barbotina y Raku
c) Cocción de esmalte

To fire in pottery is to heat up the different types of clay materials to their correct heat. It turns the clay into a ceramic when firing reaches 600 Cº. Earthenware is fired between 950º C to 1150 Cº; stoneware between about 1100 to 1300º C; and porcelains between about 1200 to 1400º C. The higher the temperature, the stronger it becomes and changes into a material that is solid, breakable but still porous and is known as bisque.
