To lengthen the brush hair: if the hairs of a brush get very short and you want to continue using it, you can make them longer in the following way. With a match, heat the ferrule, the metal band which holds the hairs. When it gets hot, the glue inside will melt and become a molten liquid, then use pliers to pull out the hair slightly.
