Hand-made wheel bats can be wood, clay or bisque, the ones that are easiest, cheapest and last longer are made with conglomerated wood. The wood should be 2 cm thick and after being used must be washed on both side and kept standing vertically; this is stop them warping. The round ones are difficult to make, so find a nice carpenter to cut them for you.
The first two photos are of bats with different sizes and the last shows how to keep them.
